A Festive Opening Ceremony Attended by Governor Saito
On the day of the grand opening, an opening ceremony combining a press conference and tasting event took place at Felissimo’s headquarters, Stage Felissimo.
Governor Motohiko Saito and Hiroyuki Koike, Executive Director of Felissimo, took the stage.
Together with business operators gathered from across the prefecture, they spoke about the significance of HYOGOSSIMO as a platform that connects Hyogo’s regional appeal to people throughout Japan—and to future generations.
What Is “HYOGOSSIMO”?
HYOGOSSIMO is the official online shop of Hyogo Prefecture, created in collaboration with more than 100 local businesses across the region.
Rather than serving simply as a marketplace for regional products, its defining feature is its focus on carefully conveying the stories behind the products—including the philosophies of the producers and the history of the land where each item is made.
By leveraging Felissimo’s editorial expertise, HYOGOSSIMO offers a new kind of online experience that blends shopping with storytelling, allowing customers to discover value through context rather than specifications alone.
In addition, selected products are shipped with a “Hyogo Scenic Views” card, featuring woodblock prints by Hyogo-born artist Hide Kawanishi. This thoughtful touch creates a memorable unboxing experience, evoking the feeling of traveling through Hyogo from the moment the package is opened.
Local Producers Showcase Their Signature Products

At the tasting and exhibition area during the opening ceremony, producers from across Hyogo Prefecture presented their signature products. Here are a few highlights.
Cream cheese made with sake lees from locally brewed sake in Akashi offers a refined, adult flavor, with the gentle aroma of Japanese sake lingering on the palate.
Jerky made from wild boar and venison is a versatile delicacy—perfect both as a snack and as a companion to alcoholic beverages.
Basque cheesecake made with lemons from Awaji Island delivers a rich, creamy texture balanced by a refreshing citrus finish.
Carefully cultivated “Tomato no Ichibanboshi” tomatoes were also featured. A purée made from these premium tomatoes allows their deep, concentrated flavor to shine.
Tea brewed from adzuki bean tea bags spreads a soft, gentle adzuki aroma with every sip.
Matches are a traditional local industry of Hyogo Prefecture—remarkably, around 80% of all matches produced in Japan come from Hyogo. On display were nostalgic retro-style match tins as well as long-term storage matches designed for use during disasters.
