Kobe Suma Sea World transforms into a magical adventure spot this winter.
On select dates from November 21, 2025 to January 10, 2026, the aquarium will host the interactive evening event “Pirates’ Harbor Festival.”

Whether you’re visiting with family, friends, or a partner, this nighttime festival adds a playful twist to the winter season—an immersive world you can only experience during these special evenings.

After 3 PM, the Aquarium Becomes a Pirate Port

As the sun begins to set, the central plaza inside Suma Sea World turns into a lively pirate harbor.
Cheerful pirates appear one after another—singing, dancing, and energizing the crowd with their joyful spirit.

The atmosphere is warm, whimsical, and a little mysterious—quite different from the usual Suma Sea World.

Acrobat-style performances also take the stage.

After dark, the lighting and performances create a magical nighttime experience.

Collect “Pirates Coins” and Begin Your Treasure Hunt

Join the carnival games and collect pirate medals.

Treasure chests are hidden throughout the aquarium.
To find them, you’ll need Pirates Coins, which you can collect by:

Solving riddles inside the aquarium

Playing carnival-style mini-games

Purchasing special event food items

Pirates reacting in surprise to an opened treasure chest.

Once you’ve gathered enough coins, a pirate “informant” will share clues that lead you to a hidden treasure chest.
Finding one—whether you’re a kid or an adult—brings a delightful rush of excitement.

“Pirate Recruitment Pizza” topped with seafood.

The pirate tavern offers limited-time menu items perfect for this special event.
The “Pirates’ Induction Pizza” is generously topped with seafood and served with flair.

Access to Kobe Suma Sea World

By Train

  • JR Sanyo Line: Get off at Suma Kaihin Park Station (須磨海浜公園駅).
    The aquarium is a 5–7 minute walk from the station.

  • JR Suma Station is also within walking distance (approximately 10–12 minutes).

From Sannomiya (Downtown Kobe)

  • Take the JR Kobe Line toward Himeji.

  • Ride approx. 10 minutes to Suma Kaihin Park Station.

From Osaka

  • Take the JR Kobe Line Rapid Service to Suma Kaihin Park Station.

  • Travel time approx. 40 minutes.
